The community emporium is located in the center of Madonna dei Fornelli, a strategic point in the municipality of San Benedetto Val di Sambro (BO) as it is at the crossroads of two of the most important walks in the Emilia-Romagna region, the Via degli Dei and the Via Mater Dei. The spaces, which cover a total area of about 200 m², are intended for the promotion of the Apennines in all its aspects and allow the infopoint staff, tourism-related activities, businesses, service providers, producers, artisans and local communities to network and create synergy for the social and economic development of the whole territory. Are you familiar with Foiatonda? It is the community cooperative of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. It promotes mountain areas by implementing enhancement projects together with communities and activities in the area. The main strands in which it operates are 3: community and resilience; tourism and promotion; and environmental protection and preservation. To combat depopulation, it works alongside communities, highlighting their hidden treasures, from the specificities of places to the talents of people, developing actions aimed at rebuilding the economic and social fabric. It also acts as a custodian of the cultural, environmental, traditional, and knowledge heritage and promotes the authentic discovery of the mountains, enhancing the naturalistic, historical, artisanal, and food and wine resources of the area. All the activities and projects it carries out are linked by a strong ethical responsibility, for sustainable territorial development, respecting the natural environment. The cooperative reality favors and encourages internal resources while always keeping itself inclusive and open to new collaborations.
