The B&B Al Giardino Toscano is located in the small village of Montecarelli, 4 km from the Via Degli Dei, so we offer a shuttle service for weary hikers.
The historic house dates back to the 18th century, built along the great ducal road from Florence to Bologna. For centuries, it served as an important inn, and there was also a hotel, opposite a post station for travelers. Alessandro Manzoni, the famous Italian writer, also stayed here in the 19th century.
In the same building are two restaurants renowned throughout the region, specializing in regional cuisine: Trattoria da Alberto and Antica Osteria di Montecarelli, founded in 1784. At the back is a beautiful, spacious garden where you can relax.
The current owners purchased this extraordinary place in 2024. Previously, they were professional theater and dance artists, managing a theater in Switzerland for over 15 years. The interior of the house has been extensively renovated. Thanks to their artistic experience, in renovating the house they preserved the originality and uniqueness of the Tuscan interiors, accentuating them with typical Tuscan colors and furnishings.
Each bedroom features a king- or queen-size bed and a private bathroom.
